A microcertificate from BRIMM at the University of British Columbia is an excellent choice for a combination of formal recognition and practical learning focused on the unique challenges facing the mining and exploration industry. Our goal is to give students the tools for a career transition or vertical growth. The program’s structure and pace are up to you – you can choose your track (pick two if you want) and earn the micro-diploma on your time clock.

BRIMM204 is focused on building a financial model for a mine. Data from a NI43-101 for a real project will be used to generate this model. Participants will learn how to read and harvest data from a NI43-101 as well as how to build this into a financial model that can be used to make decisions around the project.

BRIMM107 will focus on tactics to increase information transparency in the concentrate trade, and how asymmetric information can result in complex deals that impact miners' profitability. We will talk about how off-take agreements are structured, making it challenging to price. We will end the day with solutions, both technical and relationship-based. We will quantify the value of fixing the problem and work out a couple of synthetic case studies.
